Plus Size Lingerie Trends for Spring and Summer 2011

Middle River, MD (PRWEB) March 15, 2011

Plus size fashionistas scour runways and magazines for the season’s latest clothing trends, but where can they look for the latest trends in plus size lingerie? Plus size lingerie experts About Curves report back, revealing the most intimate trends for spring and summer 2011.

As we move into the warmer months, romance, nostalgia, and femininity abound in both texture and color. For spring and summer, the “lingerie as outerwear” trend continues to be hot. Plus size corsets and bustiers make a great transition from boardroom to happy hour, and they look stunning paired with a pencil skirt. Plus size camisoles also add a romantic touch under a suit jacket or light sweater.

Floral fabrics, silky jacquards, lace, and bold accents all add to the nostalgic mood, harkening back to as early as nineteenth century Romanticism and as late as the 1960s. Likewise, colors such as lavender, aqua, turquoise, and coral provide a softer side of their primary color counterparts.

Another main focus is the layering of loose, sheer fabrics. Plus size chemises often use this layering technique to convey an ethereal sense of demureness while also providing a very flattering feminine shape.

On New York runways, clothing designers played up layers with monochromatic tones for a soft sophistication and allure. This greatly benefits plus size women who may be hesitant to try plus size lingerie, as the abundance of sheer layers provides both temptation and modesty.

Pricing and Availability

AboutCurves.com offers lingerie for plus size women including pajama sets, corsets, peignoirs, teddys and more, in prices ranging from $27.99 to $129.99. Sizing ranges from a 1X (18-20) to a 7X (30-32).

Information on AboutCurves.com

When About Curves first began, there were very few options available to women whose bodies or tastes weren't flattered by the lingerie sold in malls. As the nation has started to accept the reality that the average woman in America is a size 16, more options have become available, but About Curves still offers the most styles of plus size lingerie online. From plus size bustiers to plus size babydolls, plus size chemises to plus size nightgowns, About Curves strives to offer a variety of products in sizes 1X through 7X.

San Antonio?s Hyatt Regency Hill Country Resort Creates Royal Wedding...

San Antonio, Texas (Vocus/PRWEB) March 14, 2011

Move over William and Kate, Hyatt Regency Hill Country is crowning their own royalty. The hotel is offering couples the “Hyatt Hill Country Royal Wedding Package” – which includes everything from a full horse-drawn carriage procession to a bachelorette’s high tea.

“Every girl has dreamed about becoming a princess and now we are giving them the chance to live out that dream,” said the San Antonio resort’s wedding coordinator, Deanna Zuber. “It allows them to get a glimpse of what it’s like to be royalty.”

Partnering with local San Antonio businesses, the package includes an abundance of flowers for the ceremony and reception, a string quartet, a live band with the couple’s choice of music, a horse-drawn carriage ride to and from the ceremony, full, high-end photography and videography, an hour with a couture wedding dress consultant, and a one-on-one wedding cake consultation with Texas Hill Country resort’s award-winning pastry chef, Lou Venditti.

For the bachelorette party, a one of the resort’s meeting rooms will be transformed into a lavish high tea. Complete with floral centerpieces and light, creme-based colors, the bride and her bridesmaids will spend a relaxing, memorable afternoon sipping tea, while the “lads” are off participating in a Royal Groomsmen Golf Tournament. The tournament will be held at the on-site Hill Country Golf Club, to be followed with “pints” at the resort’s Cactus Oak Tavern, the golf club’s “19th hole”.

The day of the wedding, the bride will receive a “Princess Makeover” at Windflower – the Hill Country Spa, the hotel’s full service spa and salon. The bride will receive full make-up application and hair styling, as a well as manicure and pedicure. The groom will also be treated to a deluxe-shave and hair styling.

When the big moment comes they will both be delivered via horse-drawn carriage to the Fredericksburg Ballroom, for an extravagant marriage ceremony. The ballroom will be filled with dramatic floral accents, elegant seating arrangements, and soft, intimate lighting, all while a string quartet softly plays in during the procession.

After the ceremony the couple will be whisked away to the Roger-Wiseman Pavilion where they will be met with a live band, which will play the newlywed’s favorite songs. The wedding party will be served an exquisite five-course meal, prepared by the hotel’s executive chef and Hyatt Hotel’s Chef of the Year, Troy Knapp. Afterwards the bride’s wedding cake will be revealed.

The overnight package includes accommodations for the bride and groom in the Sunday House, a two-story, private guest residence. The Sunday House will serve as the happy couple’s private retreat and is equipped with a full-kitchen, front and back porch, a spacious backyard, and an enclosed white picket fence.

The Sunday House’s back lawn is the setting for the day-after elegant brunch for the wedding party. Picture an English countryside, grassy buffet style brunch. A string quartet sets the ambiance, for this understated and highly unique event.

Following the royal English wedding tradition, decoration will be kept simple and regal, with a touch of sophistication - from the white linen tablecloths to the uncomplicated floral centerpieces.

We really wanted to capitalize on the public’s frenzied interest in the wedding of Prince William and Kate. There’s this sense of grandeur and mystery and that’s what we hope to capture and provide for our couple’s here. Our resort is perfect for that escape, the Hyatt Regency Hill Country will feel like your own personal castle,” Zuber said.

Prince William of Wales, who is second in line to succession of Queen Elizabeth II, is set to marry Kate Middleton on April 29, 2011 in a ceremony at Westminster Abby. Their engagement and future wedding have captured the world’s attention, reminiscent of the public’s fascination with the wedding of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales to Charles, Prince of Wales back in 1981.

The Hyatt Regency’s Royal Wedding Package accommodates a wedding party of 50 people, including attendants and guests. Packages start at $50,000, for more information on the “Hill Country Royalty Package” call Deanna Zuber at 210-520-4006.

South Carolina Plastic Surgeon Helps Patients Choose Appropriate...

Columbia, SC (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

At his South Carolina plastic surgery practice, Ram Kalus, MD, FACS, says he tirelessly pursues the latest advancements in the cosmetic enhancement industry because it further improves his ability to provide patients with optimal results. He says the latest example of this dedication is seen in the implementation of an interactive before-and-after gallery in which patients can begin to determine the appropriate implant size when considering breast augmentation, called “What Size Should I Be?”

While Dr. Kalus says the best treatment plan for each patient will ultimately be determined following the in-office consultation, this innovative gallery can provide potential patients with the necessary tools to determine the correct cosmetic enhancement plan. He adds that one of the most common questions he receives from patients concerns the best implant size for their body. By entering their current cup size, height, and weight, patients are able to search through before-and-after photos of some of Dr. Kalus’ breast augmentation patients, which he says can provide an informative glimpse at potential cosmetic surgery results.

Dr. Kalus says he constantly strives for the latest cosmetic surgery advancements because technology plays an integral role in the safety and effectiveness of each procedure performed at his Plastic Surgery of the Carolinas practice, regardless of whether he is performing a breast augmentation, tummy tuck or mommy makeover. He adds that when patients utilize the interactive software, they enter his office better educated and more confident about the procedure they are considering. And in the end, Dr. Kalus says confidence in their cosmetic enhancement decision can make all the difference.

About Dr. Kalus

Ram Kalus, MD, FACS, earned his medical degree from Boston University. He then completed his plastic surgical training at some of the most prestigious medical institutions in the U. S., and in Paris, France. Dr. Kalus is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and the South Carolina Society of Plastic Surgeons. He is affiliated with several local hospitals and surgical facilities, including the Palmetto Health Baptist Medical Center and the Palmetto Health-Richland Memorial Hospital in Columbia, South Carolina, and East Cooper Hospital in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. Wedding Dresses ? The Latest Trends! (By: Elsie Gilbert)

Wedding dresses are such an opportunity for any bride to show their unique sense of style and to really make a fashion statement. Gone are the days of the plain meringue style wedding dresses with a little cute well-placed bow; now we are daring to be different!

In fact, one of the latest trends is to offer wedding dresses that can be used again. Not only is this a great idea from a budget point of view, but it is also reflective of the simple lines that are part of the modern trend in wedding dresses. Arguably, this fashion is due to the ever increasing age of first time brides as well as the large number of second weddings.

Wedding Dresses for the Winter Wedding

Whenever we think about wedding dresses, we automatically think of a warm, summers day, with a crisp, wafting white dress to match. However, there is a growing trend towards winter weddings. Winter wedding dresses may not be pure white and are often the preferred choice for second time brides.

Trends in winter wedding dresses include deep red colored dresses or dresses that include a large amount of black. Another great idea is to include a fur collar, or long fake fur coat. If you love a touch of luxury and you want something a little different, then winter wedding dresses may just be the thing for you!

Wedding Dresses for the Summer Wedding

The key to summer wedding dresses, this year, is color. Many wedding dresses are now using substantial amounts of colored fabric to add a classic touch to an otherwise traditional white or cream dress.

Weddings are becoming much more sophisticated; generally, brides will select a theme that they will maintain throughout all aspects of their wedding. Wedding dresses must, of course, fit into this theme and as such colors and accessories are vital. Popular, seasonal colors for wedding dresses include lilac, pink, blue and yellow. Often, brides will choose a half-color theme where the bodice is colored or the skirt is colored, but the other half of the dress is kept in a plain cream or white.

Subtle is the name of the game with modern wedding dresses.

Wedding Dresses Standing Out From the Crowd

Today, wedding dresses are all different; no-one wants to look the same as the next bride and, naturally, brides go to extreme lengths to make sure that they stand out from the crowd. Of course everyone wants to do so in a classy and not trashy way! It seems that individually designed wedding dresses are the way of the future. By commissioning a made to measure dress you can make sure that it fits perfectly, is exactly what you want and above all, is unique.

Wedding dresses are an expression of your personality, so dont hold back; let your imagination run wild!

Wedding Decorations ? Less is More (By: Elsie Gilbert)

Often overlooked, wedding decorations can make a real difference to your wedding. The correct wedding decorations can really help to add that extra touch of sparkle to your wedding day. Having said this, no one wants to spend a fortune on wedding decorations that will more than likely end up in the trash can at the end of the day!

Wedding Decorations Modern Trends

Modern trends in wedding decorations suggest that less is most certainly more. A few simple touches are normally enough to change an ordinary room into a venue fit for your special day. Ideally, wedding decorations should follow the same theme that runs throughout the wedding day. Dont forget the smallest of details and make sure that the wedding decorations are placed in the ceremony venue, in the reception venue and even as part of the transport.

Wedding Decorations Budget Conscious Ideas

The cost of wedding decorations can really spiral out of control, so make sure that you budget correctly and that you shop around for the best deals. You may be surprised by how many artistic people you have as friends and family; ask around to see if some of these people would be prepared to help you create that special look.

If you cannot find a friend or relative to help you out, then why not try the local college or art school as this will offer a dedicated, skilled yet cheap option. It is vital that you plan ahead, because the cost of wedding decorations will normally be a lot less if you buy them all together and not bit by bit.

Wedding Decorations Dare to be Different

Traditional wedding decorations, such as flowers, are generally very expensive so take a different approach by creating your own decorations. Give your wedding an individual feel and save some money, into the bargain, by daring to be different!

Material of various types can be a really useful way of creating effective wedding decorations. Large bows, for example, make superb decorations for chairs in both the ceremony and the reception venue.

As a centerpiece, why not have a glass bowl with some small stones and a floating candle. Not only will these decorations be cheaper than large flower displays, but they are also more permanent and can be given as gifts or retained as a memento of your wedding day.

Wedding decorations are a matter of personal choice, but remember, be different, be organized and be consistent and you wont go far wrong!

Elsie Gilbert offers great insights to all different types of wedding ceremonies, wedding styles, wedding accessories. Breaking the Glass, Hitting Nothing but 'Net: 2010 E-sales for...

Fairfield, OH (PRWEB) March 9, 2011

Internet sales for 2010 were at a year-end high for wrappedhersheys.com, the online home of Carson Wrapped Hershey’s Chocolate, the world's premiere custom-wrapped confectionary supplier.

Several factors contributed to the company's online success in 2010, including increased product offerings, an aggressive Internet marketing campaign and ongoing enhancements to the Carson website.

With the ever-changing business landscape of the Internet, Carson President of Marketing Sharon Frederick said the company's e-commerce strategy will remain a work in progress to ensure their reputation for providing top quality customer service stays intact.

"We still view our site as an evolution, just as we view our business overall," Frederick said. "If there is one lesson that was strengthened by the recent economic recession, it's you must change to grow, and we live that lesson daily.”

Identifying the consumer shift toward e-commerce transactions early in the process and promptly modifying the company's business strategy in response has reaped enormous benefits for the company. Evidence of this can be seen in the number of orders Carson now receives online.

Just five years ago, online sales accounted for less than 30 percent of Carson's total order volume. In 2010, sales through wrappedhersheys.com represented more than 84 percent of the company's overall order volume.

"Our website has allowed us to better focus on our customers and enhance their overall experience with us. We pride ourselves on providing the utmost in customer service," Frederick added. "Our website is not only our best sales tool; it allows communication with our customers 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. We have created entirely new, targeted product lines simply because we have such strong customer loyalty and communications.”

About Carson's:
Carson Wrapped Hershey’s® has sold over 75 million Hershey’s chocolate bars and personalized candy since its founding in 1993.

The company was started by Edward Carson, who was looking for a creative way to celebrate the birth of his granddaughter, Elise. Instead of passing out cigars, he created pink candy wrappers to put around Hershey’s chocolate bars. It proclaimed, "HERESHEIS®," in large type. Elise’s name and weight appeared in small print on the front. Other vital statistics, such as the date, time of arrival and her parents’ names, were included on the back.

Carson's product line has continued to expand, offering signature personalized candy bars and favors for all occasions; including birth, wedding, birthdays, anniversaries, religious events, corporate promotions and more. Carson also has its own graphic design team that can help customers create unique wrappers that are limited only by their own imagination.

Carson wrappedhersheys.com is licensed by Hershey® Chocolate and Confectionary Corporation, and is a member of various trade organizations. Carson employs over 20 full-time team members and several part-time members at their facility just north of Cincinnati, Ohio.

Birkat Elyon Announces Custom Cubic Zirconia Jewelry: Elegance for...

New York, New York (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

New York cubic zirconia jeweler, Birkat Elyon announces the opportunity for clients to order custom-made cubic zirconia designs. Though the famed jewelry designer offers a wide selection of both classic and modern pieces in the finest quality cubic zirconia enhanced with solid white gold, yellow gold, and platinum, custom cubic zirconia engagement rings, wedding rings, necklaces, earrings and other jewelry offers Birkat Elyon’s customers their ideal jewelry designs at an affordable price – elegance for less.

Birkat Elyon offers highly-affordable cubic zirconia jewelry in a range of styles, from basic pieces that are popular for day-wear to more glamorous, striking pieces perfect for any elegant occasion. But when it comes to engagement and wedding rings, some customers have very specific ideas about what they want, and a custom-designed ring is the best way to meet their needs. “Many women have carried an image in their minds for years of what their perfect engagement ring should look like, and we’re happy to help them translate that into reality,” says Rebecca Daniel, senior designer at Birkat Elyon. “They get the beauty of fine jewelry at an affordable price, along with Birkat Elyon’s excellent service.”

Custom-designed cubic zirconia engagement rings allow couples to think in terms of their heart’s desires, not cost, because they can get the look of outrageously expensive diamonds at a fraction of the price. Whether they dream of a cutting-edge design or want to replicate a family heirloom, they get beautiful CZ jewelry that even experienced gemologists often mistake for diamonds, at a surprisingly low price. “Our average ring price is around $1000, but a diamond equivalent might cost $40,000 or more,” says Ms. Daniel. “That’s why so many newlyweds turn to our top-quality CZ in the first place.”

In this economy, even the best-dressed women and men want to save money, but that’s not the only reason discerning jewelry-buyers turn to Birkat Elyon. Many customers want to protect more expensive and sentimental jewelry pieces by leaving them safely at home when they travel, whether on business or for pleasure – but that doesn’t mean they’re willing to go without jewelry. “Our customers want to be able to wear the same stunning pieces when they travel as at home, so they turn to us to get those pieces replicated at a fraction of the cost of the original piece,” says Ms. Daniel. “Then they can wear elegant jewelry without the concerns associated with traveling with precious gems.”

Style & Substance: Shopping for the Best of Milan

Exactly why is everyone mad for Milan? Fashion, art, architecture, opera: it's all there, and then some. Small wonder The New York Times recently ranked Milan fifth in a list of the top 41 places to visit in 2011, citing the freshly (and at long last) renovated Duomo, the debut of the Museo del Novecento, which houses the city of Milan's 20th-century art collection, in the refurbished Palazzo dell'Arengario (across the piazza from the famed white Duomo), and other urban transformations, too, such as the repurposing of old factories into design studios and galleries.

With more avant-garde going on in Milan than ever, even the savviest traveler may find shopping in Milan both amazing and a maze. That's where Select Italy's Style & Substance: Shopping for the Best of Milan comes in. It's a half-day or full day guided retail odyssey that brings travelers the best of the city's myriad offerings and material marvels. Whether it's a quest for jewelry, designer labels or the desire to get the skinny on the hot new designer districts, Select Italy's professional shoppers will put their in-depth knowledge of the Milan shopping scene to work to help travelers get the most out of their time on the ground in this busy capital city of Italian fashion. Specific shopping requests can be made to guides, or guides can design a shopping itinerary built around a desired theme (home goods, ready-to-wear, etc.). They'll pinpoint the best places for purchases and accompany shoppers every step of the way.

Full-service Ticketing for La Scala

No trip to Milan could be complete without taking in a performance at the famous Teatro alla Scala. The winter season is in full swing and thanks to Select Italy's seamless museum and musical event ticketing service, securing great seats at the world's greatest opera house is a snap. Quite simply, Select Italy offers the most complete and reliable online box office for tickets to the top musical and cultural events in Milan – and throughout Italy.

Redondo Beach Cosmetic Dentist Works to Master Dental Implants in...

Manhattan Beach, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

Michael Fulbright, DDS, a cosmetic dentist in South Bay, CA, says he relentlessly pursues the cutting-edge in dental technology to ensure he is providing his patients with the safest, most-effective dental care available. Because of this intense dedication, Dr. Fulbright says he is participating in the Master’s Program in Oral Implantology at the Pacific Implant Institute in Vancouver, BC.

While other cosmetic procedures such as teeth whitening and porcelain veneers are better known for creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Fulbright says restoring a missing tooth with dental implants can do more to improve his patient’s confidence than any other procedure. He adds that while dental implants help patients address cosmetic concerns, the improvement in function typically provides the greatest impact for patients struggling with chewing or speaking.

According to the Pacific Implant Institute, the curriculum is taught by a team of internationally recognized instructors, and provides participants with the clinical skills and knowledge to perform comprehensive oral rehabilitation consistent with the highest standards of reconstructive dental treatment. Dr. Fulbright says he looks forward to completing the Oral Implantology program, and continuing to satisfy his patients’ dentistry needs whether they undergo a general cleaning, desire a brighter smile with teeth whitening, or require dental implants for missing teeth and oral rehabilitation.

About Dr. Fulbright

Michael Fulbright, DDS earned his dental degree from the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. He then practiced with renowned cosmetic dentist Dr. Brian LeSage, and completed post-graduate training at UCLA in the Advanced Aesthetic Continuum program to supplement his cosmetic dentistry proficiency. To further his dental knowledge and technical skill, Dr. Fulbright attends more than 100 hours of continuing dental education each year. He is also a sustaining member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, as well as the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and the Hermosa and Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Dr. Fulbright’s Aesthetic and Reconstructive Dental Office is located in the Hollywood Riviera at 1815 Via El Prado, Suite 200, in Redondo Beach, CA 90277. For this reason, the company is proud to announce the newest edition to their ever-growing catalog of unique and stylish wedding components, the plantable Peacock Wedding Stationery Suite.

"Wedding trends as of late are very organic," said Botanical PaperWorks president, Heidi Reimer-Epp, "Vintage looks and feather accents have become a large part of a growing number of wedding days. Brides-to-be Go All Out to Snag the Gown of Their Dreams at a Bargain...

Atlanta, GA (PRWEB) March 16, 2011

A record number of brides-to-be are expected at Filene’s Basement’s legendary Running of the Brides® sale on March 18, all looking to snag the wedding gown of their dreams at a bargain price. At 8:00AM hundreds of brides and their helpers will burst through the doors of Filene’s Basement in Atlanta to wade through over 2000 gowns, sizes 2 to 26. So deep are the Filene’s Basement discounts, many customers will literally pounce on dresses priced from $249-$699 that might otherwise cost as much as $10,000. This year, Filene’s Basement is partnering with Slim-Fast® to help brides get the perfect fit in the perfect dress for the big day.

“We know looking for the perfect dress at a great price is a primary concern for many brides,” said Joel Feigenbaum, president and COO of Filene’s Basement and its parent company SYMS Clothing. “But we also know brides want to look their best on their big day and Slim-Fast® can help. Filene’s Basement and Slim-Fast® are a good match – we both want to help brides look picture perfect on their wedding day.”

The racks are stripped bare in less than 90 seconds as the brides and their teammates grab the first dresses they reach. Then it’s time for the women to strip down to leotards, sports bras or even underwear to try on gowns in the middle of the sales floor.

If it doesn’t quite fit, a seamstress can help and the bride gets a gorgeous dress for a fantastic price. But what happens if a petite bride snagged a size 14 dress in pink chiffon when she really wanted a size 4 in white satin? That’s when the real fun begins, as the women start bartering to find the right designer or size. It’s a ritual that turns Filene’s Basement into an old-fashioned bazaar.

For brides who don’t like crowds there are plenty of great deals to be found later in the day when things calm down. Be there at 8:00am for the ‘rush to the racks’ or plan to arrive later, but don’t forget to bring a camera—veterans of this sale agree, it’s an experience worth preserving.

The Running of the Brides® sale takes place Friday, March 18, 2011 at Filene’s Basement, 3535 Peachtree Rd., Atlanta (Buckhead), GA. Hours are 8AM to 9PM. Checks, credit cards and cash are accepted. All sales are final. For more information visit http://www.filenesbasement.com/running-of-the-brides

Hannah Nicole?s 6th Annual Barrel Tasting Weekend Gives Wine...

Brentwood, CA (Vocus/PRWEB) March 08, 2011

The Barrel Tasting will offer wine enthusiasts the first chance to taste Hannah Nicole’s upcoming Fall 2011 releases. This year, the event will showcase a variety of red and white wines, including Hannah Nicole’s:
2010 Chardonnay, Contra Costa2009 Cabernet Sauvignon, Sonoma2009 Merlot, Estate2009 Meritage, Estate2009 Zinfandel, Contra Costa2009 Petite Sirah, Estate2008 Cabernet Franc, Reserve, Estate

“Each year we relish the opportunity to participate in the Barrel Tasting event with our patrons, as they sample the very first element of our wines,” said Neil Cohn, co-founder and CEO of Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery. “Winemaker John Sotelo’s art involves fine-tuning the quality of each and every one of our varietals. This year's 2011 barrel offerings represent some of our best wines to date and give every Bay Area wine lover an exceptional value, enabling them to stock their cellars at prices that are normally reserved for our wine club members.”

About Purchasing Hannah Nicole’s Future
Hannah Nicole’s upcoming releases, which are now in the barrel, are available for purchase at a 20 percent discounted or “futures” basis price. Wine enthusiasts who order the releases before the Barrel Tasting Weekend will receive additional discounts, totaling more than 30 percent. By pre-ordering, buyers will also receive Hannah Nicole Virtual Bucks, a voucher that will total between 20 to 40 percent of their purchase of wines in the barrel. Virtual Bucks can be used towards the purchase of select current release wines from the Hannah Nicole tasting room including the winery’s Sauvignon Blanc Estate or Reserve, or its popular Rose, Estate Merlot, Reserve Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The History of Futures
The practice of selling wine as futures or “en primeur” began in the early 18th century in Portugal when Britain’s war with France resulted in the dwindling of its supply of “claret” and led Brits to satisfy their wine cravings in Portugal. In the later part of the 18th century after relations between France and England improved, Brits introduced the process of selling wine as futures to Bordeaux. By selling their wine en primeur, producers received advance payment that covered operating expenses and guaranteed the upcoming harvest.

Pricing
With the option to choose the varietals now or after the Barrel Tasting weekend, buyers can mix and match selected Hannah Nicole wines from the 2008, 2009 and 2010 harvests as they select 12, 18, 24, 36, or 48 bottles for $250, $365, $450, $637, and $800 respectively.

The wines will be available for shipment or pick-up in November, after they have been bottled and aged in the cellar. To take advantage of this futures offer, call Hannah Nicole at (925) 240-9463 or register online. Many of these wines are limited in production and may sell out before the actual Barrel Tasting event.

About Hannah Nicole Vineyards
Founded in 2002 by Glenda and Neil Cohn, Hannah Nicole Vineyards and Winery is located on eighty acres of prime land in Brentwood. The winery produces over 15 different wines, including Bordeaux and Rhone varietals.

Customers can find Hannah Nicole wines at the Brentwood winery and more than 200 Bay Area restaurants and retailers. Hannah Nicole’s 18,000 square foot East Bay Area tasting room, winery room and event center is a destination for enjoying fine wines while building lasting memories with friends and family. In addition to offering regular Hannah Nicole Wine Club Member events, the winery features winery tours, live concerts, wine pairing dinners and other fun-filled events throughout the year. It is a magical spot for a unique East Bay Area winery wedding.

New TotalFX Reduces Signs of Aging in a Single Treatment

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) March 12, 2011

Millions of Americans seek relief from the signs of an aging complexion, which includes fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, age spots, sun spots and uneven skin tone and texture. Laser Clinique, San Diego's premier medical spa, is proud to offer TotalFX fractional laser resurfacing technique. This procedure is the latest treatment for painlessly and efficiently eliminating the signs of aging.

For today's more active population, the prolonged healing time involved with conventional laser or face-lift surgery is not appropriate. Dr. P. Alexander Ataii, Medical Director of Laser Clinique, offers TotalFX for patients seeking a less-invasive, highly-effective skin rejuvenation procedure because it treats fine lines, pigmentation, enlarged pores, age spots and uneven skin tones in a single treatment. Patients typically only experience five to seven days of downtime. TotalFX also helps scarring, such as deep pitted acne scars, due to the increase of collagen stimulation with this treatment.

The treatment does more than soften the appearance of imperfections; it can actually eliminate evidence of sun damage and aging, providing a comprehensive and long-lasting solution. In fact, improvement continues long after treatment. In the months following treatment, new collagen is generated deep in the skin, plumping it, improving its elasticity and continuing the improvement of the texture of the skin.

During the procedure, a high-energy beam of laser light is used to smooth out lines, wrinkles and scars, and remove dark sun spots and other irregularities, layer by layer. The Encore Ultrapulse CO2 laser that performs the procedure is a proven gold standard laser in skin rejuvenation that tightens skin and leads to collagen and elastin production.

For more information on TotalFX and other anti-aging treatments, please visit Laser Clinique's website at http://www.laser-clinique.com or call 858-481-7701.

Six Ways To Decorate Your Wedding Arch (By: Blake Kritzberg)

Sometimes a wedding arch is a no-brainer way to spruce up your ceremony site. No-brainer, at least, until you actually have one in your hands and ready to decorate. Then it gets a little more complicated.

Thinking back to prom, you might recall something vaguely gauzy, but that doesn’t give you much to go on when you have that bare-looking eight foot metal structure in your living room. Plus, maybe you want an arch that doesn’t look like prom at all — and personalization is what’s going to make your wedding tick. Here are some ways to give that arch a touch of your wedding’s unique flavor.

The Balloon Arch: Don’t forget this dramatic, pearly alternative to the wood or metal arch. A determined bride (or family member) can definitely do this herself; helium isn’t even required if you use PVC or can suspend microfilament from the ceiling. Just keep in mind it’s best to build the arch the day of the wedding, and essential to build it within hours of the ceremony if you use helium-filled balloons.

The Classic Arch: Soften the hard bones of your arch by draping it in gauzy base material (tulle, organza) and silk garlands of ivy (or real grape vines).

Now accent with a large silk bow, a pomander ball or “kissing ball” — which you can make yourself if you’re willing to use silk roses — or a traditional grouping of flowers at the top.

Or for a little more oomph, use the rule of three: one flower arrangement for the top, and at least one at each base. DIY-ers are probably best off sticking to silk, or at least using potted flowers at the base.

The Gothic Arch: Use a simple black arch that rises to a dramatic point and leave the lines clean and unadorned — or attach dried curly willow for a downright spooky touch. Hang an enormous floral kissing ball from the apex.

The All-Floral Arch: Dripping from top to toe in greenery and roses, the all-floral arch is the kind of formal living sculpture seen in cavernous churches. The greens and blooms in this arch seem to float on air, with the flowers appearing immensely heavy (they are) and the arch insubstantial. The all-floral arch is definitely a job for the pro — grand and expensive.

The Woodsy Arch: Add some unexpected texture by strapping young apple or willow branches to the sides of your arch. Or instead of a fabric or ivy base, attach garlands of ferns.

The Tropical Palm Arch: Dressed entirely in palm tree fronds, the tropical arch creates a sharp, dramatic and slightly masculine silhouette. This simple but striking approach is perfect for the handy DIYer.

The more people you invite to your wedding, the more invitations youre going to have to send out, so take a little time to create a guest list that you and your spouse will be satisfied withand one that will fit your budget. Let your friends and family know when youll be getting married as soon as you can, so that they can tell you if theyll be able to make it. For those who wont be able to attend, you can send alternate invitations on different paper that may be a little less expensive, so that your loved ones can still keep a reminder of your special day. Now is not the time to be extremely politethis is your day, and you deserve to have the people you love at your ceremony. Just because people know that youre getting married, doesnt mean they all have to come to wedding. Remember, the more invitations you send out, the more people that will show up, the more reception dinners youll have to pay forand the list goes on. Keeping your guest list small will help you to save on other wedding costs as well, so choose wisely.

Make your own invitations.

If youre especially crafty or know exactly how you want your invitations to look (and havent seen this look in stores or online) you may want to consider making your invitations yourself. This way, you can save money, and add your own special touches to make an invitation that really is unique to your ceremony and your relationship. Of course, you may still have to ask for help, but if you need friends and family to give you pointers on the invitation design or provide supplies for you to use, you wont have to pay for labor. You can also be sure that no one will have your invitations, and this will be another way to give guests the impression that your wedding will be an event to remember. You can also look online for wedding invitation templates to follow if you want to keep things a little more traditional, or arent quite ready to try your hand at such a crafty task. Here are some sites that may help: www.southworth.com, www.yourinvitationplace.com, and www.theweddingplace.com.

Use less paper.

Your invitation doesnt have to be two or three pages; you can save the story of how you met for the wedding video or the wedding programs in order to cut costs. A single sheet invitation will usually save you money, and looks very classy and sophisticated. If you want to add photos to your wedding invitations, you may want to use a photo of wedding rings, or a picture of you and your fianc as a backdrop, and include all the information about the ceremony on the same sheet. Using one ink color and a smaller border can also help to save money. The key is to make your wedding invitations look interesting and tasteful enough for people to want to attend the ceremony, and you can definitely do this without spending a whole lot of money. After all, you want to save for that fabulous dress and great receptionthese are the things that will keep your guests remembering your day for years to come.

Should You Send Save the Date Cards to Your Guests? (By: Sara Haese)

Youve probably heard about Save the Dates since they have
become quite popular with brides but you might not know
exactly what purpose they serve.

Peoples lives are getting increasingly busier and more
tightly scheduled so thats where Save the Date
announcements come in handy. You want to make sure that
your guests, especially family and close friends, keep the
date of your wedding open when planning their schedules. To
ensure this, youll want to consider sending out Save the
Date notices shortly after you have set your wedding date,
especially if its several months in the future or around a
holiday.

Proper etiquette doesnt dictate that these advance notices
have to be sent but in todays world it helps your guests in
their planning so they can be sure to be with you sharing in
the celebration of one of the most important days of your
life. If you do decide to send them out, you are not
required to send them to every one of your guests but youll
probably want to at least include close family members and
friends. Guests who will have to travel to be in attendance
will find them especially helpful for giving them plenty of
travel preparation time particularly if you are having a
destination wedding.

Its easy to be creative when sending out your Save the
Dates since there are so many different varieties and
designs available.

Magnets have become a favorite selection and why not since
your guests can easily stick them onto their refrigerator as
their reminder. Some magnets have the option of including a
photo and some actually show a calendar of your wedding date
month with your date circled for easy reference.

Scratch Off Cards are a fun, unique way of announcing your
wedding date. Your date will only be visible to guests
after they have scratched off the appropriate area on the
card similar to lottery tickets. They come in great playful
designs sure to make your guests smile.

Announcement Cards can be as creative or as simple as you
like. They come in varying designs, colors and themes from
whimsical to more traditional. Some of them even come in
creative shapes.

All designs are printed with your wedding date and names and
some even give the option of including the wedding location.
Blank white mailing envelopes are usually included in the
price no matter which design you choose. Be sure to list at
the bottom of your Save the Date the added line, invitation
to follow, so guests wont assume that this is the actual
wedding invitation. This is also why its imperative that
everyone who receives your Save the Date will also receive
your wedding invitation.

Wedding invitations play an important role in planning your
wedding, and in todays society, Save the Dates are becoming
increasingly popular because of your guests busy schedules.
You want to do everything you can to make sure family and
friends will be able to share in the joy of your wedding
day.

There?s More to Wedding Invitations Than You Might Think (By: Sara Haese)

Everybody talks about wedding invitations, but what about
all the other terms and items that are associated with them.
Below are explanations of some of the more common terms and
items that youll probably encounter while shopping for your
invitations.

Seal n Send Invitations: This type of invitation is mailed
to guests as a single-folded piece (without an envelope)
having the respond postcard attached to the invitation by a
perforation for easy removal. Since the respond piece is a
postcard, you will save on postage for the return mailing.
Prices for this product normally include seals along with a
printed return address on both the back flap when initially
mailing the invitation and on the perforated respond
postcard.

Announcements: For those who wont be invited to your
wedding but you would still like them to know about your
marriage, you can mail them an announcement card. They can
be printed on the same paper as your invitation but mailed
on your wedding day or immediately after with the wording
stating that your wedding has already taken place.

Reception Cards: If there isnt enough room on your
invitation for listing the details of your reception or if
not all guests will be invited to attend the reception,
reception cards can be ordered to match your invitations and
then be included as a separate insert. Please keep in mind
that this card could possibly add to your mailing cost since
postage is based on weight.

Respond Cards: These cards are essential to planning for
your dinner/reception since an accurate guest attendance
count will be needed for food and seating preparations. The
respond card along with its mailing envelope will be
inserted with your invitation. Remember to include a
postage stamp on this small envelope which will also have a
mailing address already printed on it so all your guests
have to do is fill out the card and mail it back by the date
you have printed on it.

Pierre Ferrand Cognac Leads the Cognac Cocktail Renaissance

New York, NY (PRWEB) March 14, 2011

In Cognac today, spirits master Alexandre Gabriel and his venerable House of Cognac Ferrand produce one of the world’s most coveted Cognacs – Pierre Ferrand Cognac. This amber elixir has been enjoyed in many ways in its lifetime. It was first imbibed as a mixable spirit back in the 1800s and after a bout of phylloxera, Cognac was only considered in measured amounts as an after dinner drink. Today, in the hands of fine mixologists, Cognac has gone back to its roots as one of the finest ingredients to make a superb cocktail and Pierre Ferrand Cognac stands as the choice at many fine establishments. According to an article in the December 2010 issue of Market Watch, Cognacs are now shaken and stirred in many signature drinks that are attracting young adult consume nationwide and while Cognac sales in the U.S. decreased in 2008 and 2009, in the first quarter of 2010, Cognac sales increased 16 percent (from Impact Database). Bars around the country are adding Cognac cocktails to their menus - including the five below - to take advantage of this Cognac cocktail renaissance and all are using Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac.

Below, cocktail historian David Wondrich and five master mixologists – Romee de Goriainoff from Paris, James Meehan from New York City, Chris Bostick from Los Angeles, Bobby Heugel from Houston and Lynn House from Chicago – share their thoughts about Cognac as a cocktail ingredient and their Pierre Ferrand cocktail.

Alexandre Gabriel, president and owner of Cognac Ferrand and an avid spirits researcher, takes particular pride in the fact that Pierre Ferrand Cognac is a favorite with bartenders looking for authentic products to use in their drink creations. “It is a wonderful thing to see that mixologists share our passion for fine spirits,” says Gabriel. “We make the Stradivarius Violin, and they play it.”

Noted cocktail historian, author, writer and cocktail master David Wondrich says this about the nectar that is Cognac and Alexandre Gabriel: “Back when the American art of the cocktail was first coming together, no spirit was more prized by mixologists than good French Cognac, and with good reason: the kind of simple, forthright drinks that the great nineteenth-century bartenders specialized in demanded quality ingredients. Fortunately, modern bartenders are rediscovering Cognac and modern Cognac makers are rediscovering bartenders. Nobody has been more active in this regard than Alexandre Gabriel."

COGNAC JULEP, by David Wondrich
1? teaspoons of superfine sugar
? oz water
6 fresh mint leaves
finely-cracked ice (wrap ice in a towel and pound it with a mallet, skillet or rolling pin)
2? oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
? oz Plantation Vintage 2000 Jamaican Rum
3 or 4 sprigs of mint

Put sugar in a tall Collins glass, add water and stir until sugar has dissolved. Add 6 fresh mint leaves, pressing them lightly with a muddler. Fill the glass with finely-cracked ice. Add Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac and stir well. Add additional ice to fill glass. Float Plantation rum on top.
Insert 3 or 4 sprigs of mint and a straw. Then smile.

COGNAC COCKTAILS THEN AND NOW
Cocktails then… The most traditional of New Orleans cocktails, the Sazerac, was created by Amadie Peychaud, who combined his original bitters with Sazerac-brand Cognac. Perhaps the most famous of Cognac cocktails is the Sidecar, made by blending Cognac, orange Curacao and lemon juice. Those seeking a true taste of pre-World War II France need only turn to the simplest of Cognac cocktails called the Fine a l’Eau, simply Cognac and club soda.

Cocktails now… But for every Cognac cocktail that is steeped in tradition, there’s a delicious and exciting new take on Cognac from today’s most inventive bar chefs. Here, five superstar bartenders/bar owners from around the world share their feelings about Cognac cocktails and their favorite Pierre Ferrand Cognac drink recipe:

PARIS: Romee de Goriainoff, owner of Experimental Cocktail Club, Curio Parlor and Prescription
“Cognac is a key spirit in our drink offer in all of our venues: in Paris at the Experimental Cocktail Club, Curio Parlor and Prescription and in London at the ECC Chinatown. We particularly love using Cognac in cocktails for its versatility: amazing in strong stirred mixed drinks such as the Sazerac but also very pleasant in lighter drinks. The array of aromas extracted from Cognac once mixed is very large - Cognac can easily express flavors of ginger, cinnamon, leather in winter, as well as flower and fruits in summer. In the midst of the cocktail craze it is therefore not surprising Cognac is making a strong comeback as it is a spirit of choice for drinks.”

BLIND DATE IN CHELSEA

Summer Fruit Cordial
Fresh Squeezed Lemon Juice
Luxardo Maraschino Liqueur
Hayman’s Sloe Gin

Muddle fresh strawberries and raspberries in a mixing glass. Add ice and other ingredients, shake and strain into a chilled cocktail glass.

NEW YORK CITY: Jim Meehan, owner PDT
“The Petite Sidecar is a variation on one of my favorite drinks: the Ti-Punch, a Martinique rhum-based Daiquiri/Old Fashioned hybrid, composed of a slug of rhum, a bar spoon of sugar cane syrup and a lime disc. I created this Cognac based Ti-Punch, which has all the elements of a Sidecar, to mix with my favorite old Cognacs. I tend to reserve my best Cognacs for sipping, which is why many of them collect dust on the shelf. If you've got it, mix it!”

PETITE SIDECAR
2 oz Pierre Ferrand Selection des Anges
? oz Rhum Clement Creole Shrubb
1 Lemon Disc (silver dollar-size twist cut straight off the side of a lemon to retain flesh with the peel)

Squeeze the lemon disc on both sides (to express the oil from the peel and juice from the flesh) into a chilled rocks glass. Add the rest of the ingredients and top with pebble ice. Swizzle, then top with more pebble ice and swizzle again. No garnish.

LOS ANGELES: Chris Bostick, General Manager at The Varnish
"Cognac in cocktails for us is a no brainer, not only due to its historical significance, but also the depth of character it lends to classic and modern recipes. Much as the producers of fine Cognacs, for example Pierre Ferrand, have mastered the art of blending, we too strive to create balance and intrigue with our Cognac cocktails."

THE TWO-WAY MIRROR
1 oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre
1 oz Cadenheads Green Label Rum
1 Demerara Sugar Cube
3 Healthy Dashes Angostura Bitters
1 Orange Peel for Garnish

In a rocks glass, add bitters, sugar and a bar spoon of soda water. Gently smash sugar cube and lightly muddle to create paste. Add Cognac and rum followed by large cube of ice and stir. Spray oils from orange peel onto surface and place in cocktail.

HOUSTON: Bobby Heugel, owner/bartender of Anvil Bar & Refuge
“No spirit in the world is as meticulously crafted as Cognac. Pierre Ferrand's ongoing devotion to this perspective allows those of us who craft cocktails to incorporate the uncompromising traditions of Cognac into our cocktails.”

EL TIGRE
1 oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
1 oz Rittenhouse Bonded Rye
? oz Luxardo Bitter Liqueur
? oz Simple Syrup (1:1 Sugar to Water)
4 Dashes Fee Brothers Barrel-Aged Bitters
2 Dashes Peychaud's Bitters

Stir all ingredients with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a lemon twist.

CHICAGO: Lynn House, head mixologist at Blackbird Restaurant
“Cognac is one of the sexiest spirits out there. It is surrounded by history and romance. I find it amazing to work with a spirit in which its creator may have never had the opportunity to experience it. Many of our original cocktails are made with Cognac. It adds depth, luxury, and amazing texture to a drink.”

THE OZ
1? oz Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac
1? oz Plum Wine
1? oz Gruet Blanc de Noir
? oz Lemon Juice
? oz Apple Cider Vinegar Gastrique (see below)

Combine all ingredients except Gruet in a mixing glass, add ice and shake until well chilled. Serve in a coup and float Gruet on top. Garnish with a lemon twist.

To make the gastrique: Combine 3 cups apple cider vinegar and 7 cups of sugar in a saucepan; simmer until reduced by half. Cool before using.

NOTES ABOUT COGNAC AND PIERRE FERRAND COGNAC
Hundreds of years ago, Cognac was considered the vodka of Europe. While its finest eau-de-vies were sipped in snifters at the end of a meal, Cognac also flowed freely in the cocktails of the day. But the phylloxera plague of the late 19th century wiped out most of France’s vineyards. Without vineyards, there could be no wine, and without wine there could be no Cognac. What was once a plentiful and widely used spirit became rare and prohibitively expensive. Cognac became as scarce as hen’s teeth, and drinks made with Cognac became rare indeed.

Flash forward to the modern day. Good Cognac once again is widely available, and today, bar owners and mixologists are eager to use Cognac in their cocktails – whether the drinks are their own creations or reinterpretations of classics. Cognac has the subtle essence of grapes and the freshness of fruit, and aging concentrates the flavor and adds balance, making Cognac the perfect partner for a cocktail. This unequalled flavor profile is the reason it was used in the drinks of the nineteenth century, and why today’s most informed mixologists are reaching for it now.

Why are mixologists choosing Pierre Ferrand Cognac? Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac is the Cognac of choice for bartenders because of its high quality and affordable price. The quality of Cognac was the reason it was chosen over any other brandies back in the 1800s. This is why Pierre Ferrand adheres to the authentic ways of making their Cognac – by using only the finest grapes from the “Golden Triangle” of the Grande Champagne region, the most sought after terroir in Cognac, which gives the spirit greater elegance, structure and an unparalleled mouthfeel. Ferrand distills “on the lees” leaving skins, stems and some fleshy fruit which contributes both body and bouquet. Ferrand double distills in tiny copper pot stills which adds texture while reducing harshness. And then Ferrand very carefully ages its spirit in Limousin oak allowing the lush grape character to remain without tasting like oak.

At retail, a 750m bottle of Ambre is approximately $45.00 making it a reasonably priced choice for at home bar chefs who want to serve their guests a special cocktail or an excellent sipping Cognac. Pierre Ferrand also offers older cognacs, for sipping or cocktailing, like Reserve ($65) and Selection des Anges ($145; for that really high-end cocktail!). Pierre Ferrand Ambre Cognac is available at fine retailers nationwide. Pierre Ferrand Cognac is imported to the United States by W.J. Deutsch & Sons, Ltd.
