Orange County Dermatologist Nissan Pilest Joins Leading Physicians in...

Irvine, CA (PRWEB) March 16, 2011

Facial Rejuvenation Specialist Nissan Pilest, MD recently participated in a certification workshop assembled by the American Society of Cosmetic Dermatology and Aesthetic Surgery. The ASCDAS meeting was held over two days in Santa Monica for aesthetic physicians to share elevated skills in cosmetic injectables, sclerotherapy and laser therapies.

A world renowned faculty discussed the latest in injectable fillers and implants…ranging from short term products such as the hyaluronic acids Juvederm and Restylane to the long-acting Radiesse and the very unique bio-stimulant Sculptra. The workshop, titled “The Art and Science of Cosmetic Rejuvenation” covered the newest methods of injection techniques, including the positives and negatives associated with each.

Dr. Pilest was joined by a core group of specialty physicians including dermatologists, plastic surgeons, ophthalmologists and residents related to these specialties. “We’re all extremely appreciative of each other’s skills,” shared Dr. Pilest. “The eclectic population of Southern California in particular gives us a tremendous pool of facial structures, skin types, colors, genetic mixes and unique response.

“To be able to share that with one another, and benefit from the incredible expertise of leading physicians who are at the forefront of new products and techniques, gives us the ability to finely hone the results we’re able to provide for our patients.”

Attending physicians provided live patient injection demonstrations to reinforce the abilities of combination therapies of both filler agents and muscle toxins such as Dysport and Botox. Physician faculty members included Rebecca Fitzgerald, unarguably the most experienced Sculptra expert in the country; the esteemed David Duffy, Mitchell Goldman, Jason Michaels and Philip Werschler.

Sclerotherapy and the use of lasers in the reduction of undesirable presence of veins was discussed both days, with comparison of the two along with the protocol for determining which therapy provided the most relief for specific complaints.

“As committed aesthetic physicians, these intensive-level workshops provide new knowledge, new techniques and new possibilities for our patients,” Dr. Pilest commented. “New products becoming available simply mean better outcomes, increased potential for improvement and more satisfaction for those who come to us with the desire to look a little better, a little more energetic and a little happier.”
