Alfred Angelo and Disney Consumer Products will unveil the Cinderella Platinum wedding gown at Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons 20th Anniversary event on March 17, 2011 to a select group of Disney and wedding industry bloggers. Both bloggers and brides will get the first view of the dress which is expected to be available in select Alfred Angelo Bridal Signature stores and independent retailers around the globe in late Summer 2011.
The Cinderella Platinum gown is the first addition to the celebrated collection of seven Disney Princess-inspired wedding gowns that launched in January 2011.
Commenting on his design inspiration, Alfred Angelo Designer Michael Shettel says, “This Anniversary special edition is a retro remix with a multitude of asymmetric tulle layers paired with a head-turning bejeweled bodice. This special gown celebrates the fairy tale that inspired it, but incorporates nostalgic and modern elements that span the 20 years of Disney’s Fairy Tale Weddings & Honeymoons. This Cinderella gown is sure to catch the eye of a prince.” Shettel adds, “in this gown, brides should be prepared to celebrate long after midnight!”
“It seemed only fitting to pay tribute to this major milestone for Disney's Fair Tale Weddings and Honeymoons with a spectacular gown inspired by Cinderella and unveiled with her castle in view at Disney World,” said Robert Oberschelp, Director Disney Collections. “Look for Disney Consumer Products and Alfred Angelo to unveil more special edition wedding gowns in the future.”
The Cinderella Platinum gown will also be presented to brides and their bridal parties at a one-day pop-up shop at Walt Disney World Resort’s Bridal Showcase event on Saturday, March 19. These lucky brides will be able to try on and purchase all styles in the Disney Fairy Tale Weddings collection, including the Platinum Cinderella gown.
